Friendly Chemistry- SECOND HOUR (9th-12th)

Teacher: Sandy Cowsill

Description: This is a 2 hour class. Friendly Chemistry presents all of the topics covered by traditional high school chemistry classes, but in a context of simpler terminology and hands-on experiential learning, which makes the concepts more accessible to most learners.

Class Length: 16 weeks, year long

Homework: 2-3 hours

Prerequisites: None

Book & Manipulative Set:  1) Friendly Chemistry Student Edition A: Guide to Learning Basic Chemistry by Joey Hajda and Lisa B. Hajda

2) Friendly Chemistry Manipulatives Set.  Please acquire this early enough to do all of the “some assembly required” work (cutting out pieces, laminating, etc) and put all the pieces in a baggie BEFORE school starts.

(No need to buy the “annotated solutions manual”. There is also a consumable student workbook available but not required. With the workbook you will make fewer copies of work pages if you want to keep the textbook clean for resale.)

Supplies: Dedicated notebook, pencil

Fees: $100 (per student, per semester)
