Jumprope Skills (3rd-12th)
Teacher: Melissa Jagears
Description: Jumping rope is a wonderful way to exercise. It’s said that ten minutes of jumping rope is the equivalent of thirty minutes of running. Jumping rope can increase the elasticity and resiliency of your muscles, help improve your coordination and cognitive function, and is a fun way to enjoy teamwork.
We will be building our cardio endurance, learning jumping skills and tricks (single and partner), and playing schoolyard jump rope games.
Homework – Students should take home and practice jump roping for about 2-5 minutes a day to build up stamina and coordination. They will NEED to bring their jump rope with them to class every week.
**If you sign up your child for this class, please email me immediately (utmostacademy AT gmail DOT com) with your child’s NAME and HEIGHT. I need to know before I get the official roster to order an appropriate jump rope for your child before class starts. The jump rope will be theirs after class is over.
Class Length: 12 weeks
Homework: 0-30 minutes
Supplies: Appropriate PE clothing and footwear
