Beginning Sewing (6th-10th)

Description: No previous sewing experience is needed for this class. Students will learn basic hand sewing skills, sewing terminology, safe use of sewing tools, and how to use a sewing machine. Students can choose from a variety of simple and fun projects to practice these skills: simple toys, accessories, totes or pillows (patterns provided.) Students will have the opportunity to bring their own fabric or choose from an assortment that will be provided at class. All projects will be completed in class. The sewing machine will not be needed for the first few classes.

Supplies: Needles for hand sewing, straight pins, pin cushion, seam ripper, tape measure, fabric scissors, black & white thread.
