Liberty Kids Study (PreK-2nd)

Description: This is a year long class. We will watch two episodes of Liberty’s Kids each week then talk for the remaining of the class about what was watched. This provides four weeks extra (because there are 40 episodes) so intermingled during the year we will have projects we will complete.

Middle School Drama (6th-8th)

Description: Middle School Drama is a “doing” class. There will be drama games and improv
scenes during each class session to give the students more experience on stage. They will review basic acting techniques and stage terminology, and work on some scripted scenes.
There is no textbook, but the students will be expected to take notes and keep all handouts. Returning students are encouraged, and new students will be welcomed.
*This class can be taken 1 or 2 semesters.

Intro to Presidents of the USA (3rd-8th)

Description: This course is intended to examine briefly the purpose of the executive branch of the United States and more directly the office of the president. This course will then examine the first 11 presidents of the United States and give a brief overview of their lives, time in office, achievements, contributions and controversies surrounding their term(s) {if any}. The goal of this class is to provide insight into the role of the president, learn from their impact on our country (history and direction) and inspire the students to seek to serve their nation.

Ancient History (3rd-6th)

Description: We will be using The Good and Beautiful History Year 1 Curriculum1. This semester we will be covering Unit 1 which is Ancient History. This curriculum puts an emphasis on God and character with a family style learning which allows for children of all ages to be able to learn along together. We will be utilizing lectures, stories, games and student work in their own explorers notebook.

Beg. Crochet (5th-8th)

Description: For students who have no experience crocheting–for the absolute beginner. Skills taught include familiarity with yarns, hook sizes and other crochet notions, chaining, single, half-double and possibly double crochet. Several beginning projects will be completed including bracelets, coasters, dishcloth, scarves and others.

Fun w/Sign Language (1st-6th)

Description: This class is designed to be an introduction to American Sign Language for younger students Grades 1-5 or for those students who wish to refresh their skills. Each week 10-20 signs and phrases will be taught. There will be lots of review to ensure learning and proficiency. It will be a springboard for those wishing to continue learning American Sign Language. All class materials will be provided. Students will need to provide folders for class handouts.

Description: Let’s get ready to build! Each week, students will be given a Lego challenge to complete in class. Challenges will include tasks such as build something with wheels, build a pet, make a bridge, etc. At the end of each class, we will have “show and tell” so the students can show each other what they made. This will provide an opportunity to practice being a good audience.
