Description: This course works through the Good and Beautiful US Constitution and Government curriculum. We will use a variety of learning mediums, including videos, games, reading, and craft activities. Additionally, History Case Files will be used to walk students through how to critically think about bias, truth, facts, and primary sources. Access to short audio biographies that provide inspirational accounts of the lives of important men and women during the framing of the Constitution and constitutional amendments will also be apart of the course.

Financial IQ/Cash Flow 101 (9th-12th)

Description: Based off the Rich Dad Poor Dad books by Robert Kiyosaki to increase our knowledge of how money works, why the rich get richer and the poor stay poor. To learn how the rich use their money and why. Learn the difference between liabilities and assets and how the financial system works for and against you. This is to increase your financial IQ to know what and when to ask the right questions.

Middle School Science (5th-8th)

Description: A comprehensive, integrated class that includes the various branches of science. Instruction will come from a 6th grade science program. Instruction will be scaffolded based on student ability. Students will be required to take notes, work in groups, and will have exams throughout the semester to show comprehension. There will be multiple experiments and other hands on activities, this will require every student to follow directions.

*5th-7th graders are the ideal range for this class. 8th graders are welcome, but the class will be taught at a 6th grade level.*

American Sign Language 1 (5th-12th)

Description: Students will progress in their knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf Culture from fingerspelling the alphabet to being able to communicate more complex concepts.

Description: A basic introduction to Spanish vocabulary. We will loosely follow the Song School Spanish curriculum. There is a short weekly instructor video to watch to go along with worksheets. We will sing songs, listen to books in English then Spanish, watch movies in Spanish with English subtitles and play various games that incorporate that week’s vocabulary words. Not required but available to purchase online is the cd of the curriculums songs they will be singing each week that reinforces the vocabulary words.

Middle School Drama (6th-8th)

Description: Middle School Drama is a “doing” class. There will be drama games and improv
scenes during each class session to give the students more experience on stage. They will review basic acting techniques and stage terminology, and work on some scripted scenes.

There is no textbook, but the students will be expected to take notes and keep all handouts. Returning students are encouraged, and new students will be welcomed.
