HS Physical Science- SECOND HOUR (9th-12th)

Description: This is a 2 hour class. This is a high school level detailed introduction to the physical environment and the basic laws that make it work. The fairly broad scope of this course covers topics in physics, chemistry, and earth/space science. It provides students with a solid understanding of Newton’s laws, gravity, motion, weather, the solar system, atomic structure, radiation, nuclear reactions, stars, and galaxies.
There will be weekly pre-reading and homework assignments, in-class activities, as well as periodic laboratory experiments and reports. Regular tests and quizzes will be given.
Students need to have an understanding of the following math concepts: 1. How to convert measurements/units 2. Simple rearranging of equations 3. Dividing and multiplying fractions
Class Length: 16 weeks, year long
Homework: 4 or more hours
