Description: This course in government and civics takes students on a guided tour of what elected officials and everyday citizens do to keep America running. Students will learn about government on the federal, state, and local levels; study American ideals and symbols; discover what it is like to be a fireman, a police officer, and the president of the United States; learn respect for their community, state, and country; and learn about the people who make our country work. Throughout the curriculum, students will learn about the rights and responsibilities of being a citizen.

Class Length: 16 weeks, year long
