Beg. Crochet (5th-8th)

Description: For students who have no experience crocheting–for the absolute beginner. Skills taught include familiarity with yarns, hook sizes and other crochet notions, chaining, single, half-double and possibly double crochet. Several beginning projects will be completed including bracelets, coasters, dishcloth, scarves and others.

Supplies: Crochet hook (size I, 5.5 mm), stitch markers, yarn needle, practice yarn will be provided, yarn for projects will need to be purchased at that time.

Etiquette & Manners (5th-8th)

Teacher: Erica Webster

Description:  In this class, students will practice good manners and learn the proper etiquette for a variety of social situations. Role play will help us reinforce the lessons taught each week.
Topics include: setting a table, table hygiene and manners, introductions, phone & email etiquette, being a guest, being a host, thank you notes and much more.

Beg. Sewing 1 (5th-12th)

Teacher: Emma Parker

Description: Beginning sewing is for the absolute beginner. Students will learn the basics of sewing, such as, using their sewing machine, hand sewing, and starting on easy sewing projects that will advance as the semester progresses.

Class Length: 16 weeks

Supplies: Sewing machine, pins, fabric marking pencils, sewing scissors, sewing tape measure, and stitch ripper. They will also need fabric for sewing projects throughout the semester.

Beg. Sewing 2 (5th-12th)

Description: Beginning Sewing 2 is for students that have taken Beginning Sewing 1 and have learned all the basic skills needed for more advanced projects.

Class Length: 16 weeks

Advanced Sewing (7th-12th)

Description: Advanced sewing is for students that have taken Beginning Sewing 1 and/or 2. They will continue to learn more advanced skills such as reading and understanding a pattern, taking proper measurements for clothing, and continuing to better their sewing skills.

Class Length: 16 weeks

Prerequisites: Beg. Sewing 1 and/or 2.
