Pre-Algebra (7th-8th)

Description: Pre-Algebra builds on the math skills students have learned in Basic Arithmetic. It will give 7th-8th grade students the foundation needed to succeed in Algebra I. Using the Abeka curriculum, each student will need a text book and a test/quiz book.

(The best option I found is at Abeka.org. The Pre-Algebra Homeschool Student Kit is only $53.80.) Families with multiple students in the class may opt to purchase one textbook as all work is done on paper. A syllabus will be provided with lesson plans and reference charts.

Algebra 1 (9th-12th)

Description: Building on Pre-Algebra, Algebra I students will learn skills needed to successfully complete the math portion of the ACT test. An emphasis is placed on word problems so 9th-12th grade students will learn how to apply algebra to everyday situations.

Each student will use the Abeka curriculum and will need a text book and a quiz/test book. (The best price I found is on the Abeka.org website. The Algebra I Homeschool Student Kit is only $61.60.) Families with multiple students in the class may opt to provide one textbook as problems will be worked on paper.) A syllabus will be provided with lesson plans and reference charts.
