Beginning Sewing (5th-8th)

Teacher: Becca Ruby

Description: Learn to sew! This class is for beginners. We will learn to use a sewing machine, how to prepare fabric with ironing and pinning, basic stitches (and how to rip them out!), corners, and other basic skills. In the first semester we will focus on learning and practice and finish the semester by making a pillow case to keep. In the second semester we will make a baby blanket to give to charity and a tote bag for the students to keep.

Class size will be 4 students. The class will be offered two hours so more students can learn. The two hours will be same, one repeating the other, so please only sign your student up for one class hour! All students will work together at the same pace on the same projects.

Co-op will provide the sewing machines. Families will need to provide fabric, thread and other notions. More information on needed supplies will be emailed out closer to the start of classes. Feel free to contact me with questions!
