World Religions & the Christian Response (7th-12th)

Teacher: Kathy Ferguson

Description: This 16-week course introduces students to major world religions and compares their core beliefs with historic Christianity. Students will explore traditions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, and modern movements, examining what each teaches about God, humanity, salvation, and the afterlife.

The course emphasizes understanding before evaluation, encouraging students to think critically, ask thoughtful questions, and engage others respectfully. Through comparison, discussion, and practical application, students will learn how the Christian worldview differs from other belief systems and why those differences matter. By the end of the semester, students will be better equipped to articulate their faith clearly and interact graciously with people of diverse religious backgrounds.
